My 30 Before 30

An amazing friend of mine gave me the inspiration for this, find her @lifesshinyprettythings.blogspot.com. She done a similar list of her 25 before 25, however as I am turning 25 tomorrow I thought I would make a list of My 30 before 30 :)

I took my time and deliberated over what things I really wanted to achieve in the next 5 years and came up with My List:

1. Own our own home
2. Get a boob job
3. Go to Spain with my family
4. Go to Dubai
5. Ride in a hot air balloon
6. Loose and maintain a 30kg loss
7. Learn to play a musical instrument
8. Take a spiritual class
9. Learn to speak some Spanish
10. Start my first business
11. Be earning $70,000++
12. See a sunrise and sunset in 10 different countries
13. Go to Ireland to see my family
14. Get my tea leaves read and my Tarot cards done
15. Go skydiving
16. Get "Phil" tattooed on my ring finger
17. Have amazing relationships with my family
18. Run in a children's charity marathon
19. Do something EXTRAORDINARY for Phil
20. Own 100 pairs of HOT shoes
21. Put a lock on the bridge in Paris
22. Quit smoking
23.
24.
25.
26.
27.
28.
29.
30.

I Have left some spaces intentionally blank as I don't want to rush them down, I want them to be totally meaningful and special :) Plus I have 5 years in which to complete this list and that gives me plenty of time to come up with new and even more amazing goals to push and challenge myself.

Writing goals out and putting visual images linked to each of those goals has been a real game changer for me, As now I am accountable to this board which sits proudly in my living room, each and every day, and now that I have sent it out into the universe, I have no doubt that I can achieve this list plus much, MUCH more with ease and abundance. Before listing these desires and wants down as goals, they were only dreams, and dreams can sometimes seem too far away for us to achieve or get. Setting these goals as well as regularly setting all my goals down on paper really gives me a sense of achievement as well as a security in knowing that with a little bit of hard work and determination, these goals that were once just dreams, are going to come true.

Pick out your next "milestone" birthday and give it a go, turn your dreams into realities too!

The Journey Begins

Something I have been neglecting these past few days has been my routine of writing down my gratitude’s each and every single day. Really writing down all the wonderful and irreplaceable moments in each of my days and telling the universe that I am truly grateful for what I have. And over these past couple of days, you know what? I haven’t been writing them down. I have instantly noticed the difference in myself, in my mindset, I decided to rewind back to the beginning of my journey to wellness. Because since starting in April (the 17th to be exact) SO MUCH HAS CHANGED ABOUT ME! In so many beautiful and unexpected ways.

I was pretty intrigued when an old friend of mine the gorgeous and inspirational, intelligent and did I mention HOT! Anna Ogilvie the woman of lifesshinyprettythings.blogspot.com.au sent me an invite to an event called “shower on the Inside” – a nutritional cleansing program she had started using and loving. She told me all the benefits she had seen in her first 30 days on the products.

I literally couldn’t believe my ears this is exactly what I had been looking for! I was 96.9KG the heaviest weight of my life and depressed as HELL. I was exercising 5 days a week, 3 at least of those were PT, I Couldn’t stand my reflection in the mirror especially getting in the shower (I could still move past quickly!), I was feeling Un-sexy when it came to Sexy-Time and worst of all feeling insecure in my relationship with Phil – it wasn’t too fun living with me I’m sure!

After a lovely catch up meal in a little Freo Café with Anna, I went to my first ever Wellness Wednesday, Seriously… I was blown away! By the information and knowledge I was hearing, The warm and welcoming atmosphere that surrounded me, and the buzz of a room full of like minded young (and pretty sexy) bunch people all with the same vision and goal. It was EVERYTHING I needed all in one. I was lucky enough to start at the same time as the gorgeous Laura Howe, her facebook page: Eat Clean Be happy,

who was starting the program at the same time as me, and we just clicked! Like instant best friends, both on the same journey, liked all the same shit – you couldn’t imagine how much “shutups” and “get the fuck outta here’s” we have constantly. This girl is like Ying to my Yang and how incredible to partner up with a soul like this at the beginning of amazing journeys? Perfect.
I set my goal for 8-10kg in my first 30 days, I weighed in, took my measurements, pics and went for it. I exercised and I stuck to it to the tee. And in those 30 days I lost 8.4kg and 69cm from across my body. IN 30 DAYS! I was FUCKING STOKED! The best bit was it really wasn’t just the weight loss…. So much had shifted (and I don’t mean my arse)… I literally felt lighter…. (Get it…hehe) BUT SERIOUSLY GIRLS AND BOYS! I felt the best I have ever felt in my WHOLE LIFE! I was waking up BEFORE the alarm, not like the swearing growling bear I had been – according to Phil, I was bouncing out of bed, ready to go! I was more focused, determined and passionate about every aspect of my life and my relationships, these two women I mentioned above surrounded me, but 10 MORE just like them AT least! In my incredible team, all striving to become physically and financially free ASAP!

Which has all lead me to viewing my life and my time that I spend very differently.
I do more things that I truly LOVE
I am remembering to be Grateful for all the good in my life
Feeling healthier and motivated to achieve my goals
I am HAPPY TO BE ALIVE.

A Mother's Love

I have always been a firm believer in children holding the secret keys to the universe and all things great in their tiny little palms. It's amazing to have a conversation with a child on their take on life, love and the world in general. Even better is being able to listen in on a conversation between 2 children who aren't aware an adult is present. Not only are they incredibly funny, they are honest, raw and truthful which seems to be a couple of qualities that dull out as we mature and grow up in life.

I am proudly the mother of two amazing little humans Rhyder James my handsome first born son who is going to be 6 in October and my  little princess Kyah Jae who will turn 3 in September. I wanted to introduce you to them as they are the reason my world spins, my all and my everything and being a mum to them is the greatest joy I have ever known and will probably ever know. Sure parenthood has its trials and tribulations and certainly has tested me in every aspect of my being but I would not have it any other way, the beauty in becoming a mummy to me, is the lessons we get to learn from the tiny people whom we are trying to teach. I have read plenty of great books on how to be the best parent, or the things we should teach our children, or what is right and what is wrong with how we choose to parent, but you know what? There is absolutely no handbook on parenting. There is no right way or wrong. Each child has been made so individual and unique that it would be absolutely impossible to have 1 set of 'rules'.

I actually believe that my kids are the ones who teach me something new everyday, teach me something new about the world, teach me how to stretch my love even further than I knew was possible. With the endless curiosity and questions they ask me each and every day, I LEARN. I learn the answers they seek, I learn patience when I have been asked "but why mummy" or "what's that mum" or "how do I spell cat or fat or bat" 400 odd times by each of them a day, (gets tricky let me assure you!) I learn to laugh at the silly stuff, stop to pick the flowers,  to still see Beauty and wonder in all the little things us adults usually take for granted because I am blessed enough to be able to look at life through their innocent, pure eyes. They teach me to be happy for no reason, turn every conversation into a song or a rhyme, dance around and not worry about having a clean and tidy house if its play time! So while I try teaching my children about life they actually are teaching me what life is all about.

I have decided to approach my 'teachings' in a different way. I have decided, that to lead by example in the ways that I live will probably teach them more than the words I say. I plan to educate my children on the importance of being happy in life so that when they grow up they will understand the value of life. I will inspire my children to chase their dreams no matter how big they seem or how far away they may be, because inside every child is a genius. Our children are the adults of the future. They will be the leaders in a time we will not see. So it our duty to send them forth not only with all the knowledge we have aquired in our lifetimes but also with the hands on experiences we have had.

So this message is for you my beautiful children.

 Rhyder and Kyah,

I vow to love you unconditionally, laugh with you as often as possible, fill your days with wonder and excitement, allow you to fall down and pick yourselves back up, to get covered in dirt and mud and walk filthy footprints through my freshly mopped house, speak kind words to you even if I am cross, show you the difference between right and wrong, respect you and care for you, pull back the blankets at 2am when you woke from a bad dream and need to get in for a cuddle, sing all your favourite songs, dance crazy cause its so funny and most of all be your best friend.

Love you both to the moon and back always and forever, Mumma xxx

My Ideal Day

My gorgeous and inspirational friend and mentor  Peta Kelly, director from Anatome - integrated wellness (find her on Facebook or Instagram @petajean_) asked me a question last night and Man! It was a cracker!! she asked me what my ideal day would look like from start to finish. This of course set my mind (and heart) fluttering and racing! Honestly before this year, I couldn't have even allowed myself to really imagine or dream if you like, how and what I would spend my day doing if the choice was mine and mine alone. If work or chores weren't existent, if the mundane 9-5 wasn't what my future had in store. If I got to "live life by my own design".

It breaks every mould of what i have ever been taught really! My parents encouraged me (yours probably did too) to go to school, study hard make good grades, get an education, find a good job and work hard. and you know what? i I 1000% agree that good education goes a long way towards creating financial freedom, but will that teach me everything i need to know about becoming successful in life?? I mean even highly qualified professionals like lawyers for example, go to work everyday as employees, working for someone else. Working to create someone else's ideal day. Is that fair? And no doubt the cycle will continue, I have 2 insanely clever children who I want to see get good educations, study hard, and get great jobs... But really, is that going to work in today's unstable economy and world?? I can't say I have the answers to these questions but I'm sure as hell on a mission to find a better way of having "it all".

So back to Peta's mind blowing question, after a great deal of pondering, i want to paint you a picture of what my ideal day would look like...

I would be Waking up in my luxurious, snuggly king size bed, next to my husband (who also has the freedom to spend his day however he chose to)and my two wonderful kiddies as you can see this is why we would need the King size bed haha. We live in our amazing waterfront mansion in Mosman Park, that we have custom designed and built (in other words our dream home) its early about 5.30am and it's a gorgeous warm spring morning, i can hear birds chirping and a gentle ocean breeze is blowing, i can smell the salty goodness in the air. I feel healthy, energised, happy, fit and ridiculously blessed and grateful that this is my life.

I jump up and get my trainers on, take a short stroll to the pristine Western Australian coast line. I hit the sand at Cottesloe Beach and kick my shoes off letting warm sand surround my toes and waves splash my feet As I set off for a stroll in the morning sunshine

I would sit and take time to Channel my spiritual energy and divine guidance from my angel guardians with some meditation and either with a reading or some crystal healing therapy

My kids love making cubby houses so i would make with them the biggest and bestest blanket fort this world had ever seen and set up camp together inside it :) let them delve into there extraordinary imaginations and come up with an awesome story line for our "game" then to read them their favourite books while having a tea party where EVERY.SINGLE.TOY is invited.

To sit in the afternoon light with a fruity drink in hand Reading a book that I loved in my hammock in the sun next to my sparkling blue pool followed by Taking a relaxing swim to cool off and a hot bubbly spa, before pampering myself with some self love, like a homemade facial or body scrub hey who knows... maybe both :)

To sit and Enjoy a candlelight romantic meal with my gorgeous husband and a glass of vino or 2 whilst sharing our future ambitions and plans and maybe organising our next family holiday (I'm thinking Disneyland!)

And finally, Snuggling down with my babies to watch one of their favourite Disney classics(if I got to choose it would be Aladdin hands down)

Wow. What a day!!! Picture perfect in every way!

Why don't you give it a try? I'd love to hear how you would all choose to spend your ideal day!

2013 WILL BE MY YEAR

I resonate so so soooooo hard with this above quote because of when I finally had the realisation that it was time. The moment came on the night of all nights... picture this: Im in London, standing on the Embankment next to the River Thames looking directly onto Westminster Abbey and Big Ben one of my favourite icons in all of history, beside the London Eye on... NEW YEARS EVE! I know right, Best effing spot to be on New Years Eve. The perfect location for the penny to drop, which actually had only just happened moments before in Trafalgar Square.

I was in England, with the Love of my life, best friend, partner in crime, husband and soul mate Phil and hundreds of thousands of excited (pissed up) people from every corner of the globe when the bells started to ring in 2013 and fireworks lit up the sky. EVERYONE cheered, a man proposed to his beautiful girlfriend right in front of me (dreamy right?) Phil and I swigged Champagne warm from the bottle and danced with strangers, hugging and laughing on an otherwise bustling London Road.

I knew there in that moment 2013 was GOING To be MY year. I was never making and breaking another New Years Resolution, IN FACT! screw the resolutions, i was never going to make another one again. I was headed on a Journey, of self discovery, truth and all things of the heart. I was seeking, soul searching if you will.

  • My year to love my body. Really love my body, to free myself from the self loathing ways and from the weight (literally) dragging me down
  • My year to become a better and happier Wife, Mother and Friend
  • My year to discover and develop my beliefs and connections to my Angels and Spirit Guides
  • MY YEAR to truly BE ME.
So it felt only natural to start a journal of my journey and new path toward all these things and everything I find along the way, and to share it with you all and the universe to remind me that this really is my year to shine bright.
